Beginning in an Ending
Recently, I broke up with my girlfriend and although I am sad about it, I know I also gained a friend for life out of it. This was difficult for me to do because I truly liked her, she showed me that there are some decent women out there. She made me feel good about myself and was supportive in so many ways. I can never thank her enough for what she has done for me. We ended because I’m at a point in my life where I couldn’t give her the time she deserves. With college, work and the eventual move home to assist my grandmother in taking care of my grandfather after surgery, she would have fell to the wayside. She was a woman that deserved the best. The hardest part of this all is that I will miss her smile, her laugh and waking up next to her in the morning. I hope she finds someone who will treat her like the queen she is. Someone who will be there for her, give her the world. When we first started dating I made a promise to her sister, I told her I would treat her right, never hold her back and be there for her. I told her if I couldn’t I would end it so she could find someone who could. I know in my heart of hearts that if we would have tried to make it work, it would have been more painful in the end than it is now. I never broke my promise. I know she understands. All of this aside, if she cried for me, I never meant to make her cry. I know I wept for her.
This is just the beginning of something beautiful.
